# research

sends parallel subagents to look into a question, then turns what they find into one decision you can check.

## install

the skill is 3 markdown files, no scripts. nothing runs on install.

with node, for claude code, codex, cursor and other agents:

    npx skills add https://pqoqubbw.dev/skills/research

add `-g` to install it for every project, `-a claude-code` to pick the agent, and `-y` to skip the questions.

without node, unpack the archive into a folder named `research` in the agent's skills folder:

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/research
    curl -fsSL "https://pqoqubbw.dev/.well-known/agent-skills/research.tar.gz?via=agent" | tar -xz -C ~/.claude/skills/research

| agent | every project | this project |
| --- | --- | --- |
| claude code | ~/.claude/skills/research | .claude/skills/research |
| codex | ~/.agents/skills/research | .agents/skills/research |
| cursor | ~/.cursor/skills/research | .cursor/skills/research |
| other agents | ~/.agents/skills/research | .agents/skills/research |

the archive's sha256 is `aa3def713f826b7d43128a17ac24851c641ad3a6414f9f579f259918fdeb6d5e`, also listed in the [index](https://pqoqubbw.dev/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json).

the skill shows up as `research` in the next session.

## description

Runs deep, task-independent research with parallel subagents and turns it into one evidence-backed decision. Use whenever the user asks to research, investigate, explore options, find the best way or best practice, compare approaches, look at how others do it, check sources, "google it", do a deep dive, or decide whether a library, tool or an article's approach is usable for us (read the library itself, not just the article), even when the word research is never used. Works for code changes, new components, bugs, performance, design and visual exploration, animation and physics, writing, naming and product ideas. Not for a single fact lookup in a known file or for applying a fix that is already chosen.
